چکیده مقاله
Quantifying of hydrogen crossover through fuel cell's membrane gives a useful parameter for monitoring of performance, degradation, and state of health of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). In this article three in situ electrochemical techniques including cyclic voltammetry, linear sweep voltammetry, and chronoamperometry are used to evaluate the hydrogen crossover of single cell PEMFC. A fuel cell with a commercial MEA is used for analysis. The single cell temperature was maintained at 70 °C. Under fully humidified hydrogen (1.5 slpm, anode) and nitrogen (1.5 slpm, cathode), cyclic voltammetry and linear sweep voltammetry were performed at scan rates of 100 and 10 mV/s, respectively. The determined hydrogen crossover current by linear sweep voltammetry, cyclic voltammetry, and potentiometry are 1.76, 1.65 and, 1.76 mA/cm2 respectively. Based on our result, there is a good agreement between the predicted hydrogen crossover current by the three methods and results of all three methods are the same.
